Do I pay tax on an ISA or a pension?

No. You don't have to pay Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax on ISAs or pension investments, and you will not need to declare your ISA on your tax return. But remember that you may have to pay tax on the income you receive from your pension.

For an ISA, withdrawals do not count as taxable income but payments in do not receive tax relief. For a pension, you receive tax relief on payments in, but withdrawals (apart from the 25% tax fee cash) may be taxed.
