How is income tax taken from my investments?

Income tax from your investments can depend on your individual situation and type of investment you make.

For an ISA, you don't have to pay UK tax on income produced by your investments.

For an Investment Account, income payments are subject to basic rate tax of 20%. Rates of tax relief for Scottish Residents may differ to the rest of the UK. You may be liable to additional income tax if you're a higher or additional rate taxpayer.

If you're unsure about how much tax you pay, check with a tax adviser or HMRC for more information.
