What tax relief do I get on my pension?

The HMRC will provide tax relief of 25% on the contributions you make. The tax relief will be added to your account as cash within 6 to 8 weeks from the end of the month you're investing. If you pay higher or additional rate tax, you need to claim the rest of your tax relief from HM Revenue & Customs yourself – this may mean you have to complete a tax return.

You should remember that there is a limit, known as the annual allowance, on the amount of pension contributions you can receive tax relief for within a single tax year. If you're unsure of your tax implications, you can seek advice from a tax adviser or directly from HMRC.
