Can my employer make contributions to my pension?

Although your employer can choose to contribute to your SIPP, employers do not have an auto enrolment obligation to contribute to a pension

A SIPP isn't a workplace pension, but your employer can contribute to it as well as or instead of contributing to your workplace scheme. Their contributions are paid gross, with no tax deducted.
