What is the maximum amount I can pay into my SIPP?

There is no limit on the amount that you can pay into a pension, but there is a limit on the amount of tax relief that you receive. This is known as the Annual Allowance and in the current tax year, the maximum contribution limit is £40,000 for most people. The limit applies across all your pension savings, not per scheme, and includes the value of any tax relief that is added to the contributions.
